The training

Training tomorrow's hotel leaders

At the Institut Français d'Hôtelage (IFH), we are committed to shaping the next generation of leaders in the hotel sector — visionary professionals, open to the world and driven by the search for excellence.

Become a leader in hotel management

The Master in Business & Hospitality (MBH) is based on three educational pillars designed to train agile, innovative and responsible managers:

Action-oriented management training

Entrepreneurial projects (e.g. food trucks, pop-up restaurants), consulting missions for partner companies, business games and real case studies.

Practical expertise in the hotel industry

Intensive training sessions on our Château campus, culinary workshops, professional experiences with our partner hotels, and a strong emphasis on work-study programs (in-company and ongoing training).

Mastering luxury soft skills

Professional posture and communication, etiquette and codes of refinement, general culture and emotional intelligence adapted to the world of high-end hotels.

Experience-based training

The MBH program addresses the major issues that are shaping the future of luxury and hospitality:

  • Innovation: Artificial intelligence, new business models, digital ecosystems and social media
  • Durability: Responsible sourcing, circular economy, well-being and healthy lifestyles
  • International openness: Intercultural management, international finance, languages and geopolitics

Expand your professional network

More than one school, The IFH is a gateway to a powerful industry network.
Students benefit from a vast network of exceptional professionals: Best Workers in France, managing directors of Parisian palaces and managers of major international brands.

Our team also offers personalized support to get high-quality internships and work-study contracts, with more than 100 exclusive partner offers.

Explore the world

French hotel expertise is recognized around the world — and our students are encouraged to experience it firsthand.
The program MBH includes opportunities to international mobility up to 6 months abroad, integrated into the work-study model, in order to allow students to evolve in international luxury environments.

Learn to create

The entrepreneurial spirit is at the heart of IFH.
From the second year, students design and manage a hotel or F&B project (food & beverage) on a large scale of their choice: food truck, pop-up restaurant, DNVB (native digital brand) or concept store.

They are supported by dedicated courses, mentoring and access to our incubator — with the aim of creating an autonomous and profitable business.

All you have to do is send a CV and the transcripts of Première, Terminale and Bac de Français via the Application portal.

Is it a disadvantage to have no experience in hotel/restaurant/luxury?

It is not a disadvantage. All applications are studied in depth by the admission team on the basis of multiple factors (grades, evaluations, extra-curricular activities and the motivations presented during the admission interview).

Are there specializations to focus on in high school to join IFH?

IFH Bachelor programs are open to all high school students, regardless of the field (general, technological, professional), and regardless of the specialisations/options chosen in Premier/Terminale.

Does IFH offer work-study programs to its students?

Yes, IFH has a vast network of partners in France and abroad that it makes available to its students. IFH also has exclusive work/internship offers, reserved for the school's students.

Does IFH offer support to find an apprenticeship or an internship?

Of course! IFH pays particular attention to the professional opportunities of its students. They benefit from personalized support in three stages: orientation, coaching, and networking with partner companies.

How does admission to the French Hotel Institute take place?

The selection is carried out in two phases:
i. Eligibility phase: study of the file (newsletters and CV)
ii. Admission phase (for candidates declared eligible): written test (writing and logical skills) and oral test (motivation, quality of the professional project, oral fluency).

What is prioritized in the evaluation of the file to join the IFH?

The admissions team focuses on two areas of assessment: the quality of the professional project and the motivation of the candidate.

When are eligibility results (and, if applicable, admission results) published?

The IFH process is done on a “rolling” basis: once the file is submitted, it will be examined by the admission team within 3 weeks. In case of eligibility, slots for the admission exams are offered. After these, the candidate receives an admission response within 2 to 3 weeks.

What are the opportunities for IFH?

IFH courses give access to all professions in the hotel and catering industry (hotel manager, restaurant manager, etc.) but also to luxury professions (event, marketing or sales manager in major fashion/wine/spirits houses) and to business jobs in the broad sense (financial analyst, entrepreneur, etc.)
