Company description

Located in the heart of the Palace of Versailles Estate, Le Grand Contrôle was built in 1681 by the favorite architect of Louis XIV and a reference of French classicism, Jules Hardouin-Mansart. This spectacular building once welcomed members of the European political and cultural elite, from ambassadors to artists, musicians, writers and scientists of the Age of Enlightenment.More than two centuries later, after a complete restoration, Le Grand Contrôle was reborn to reveal to its guests the exclusive universe of the Palace of Versailles. Stroll through its gardens of more than 800 hectares, walk in the footsteps of illustrious characters and discover the rooms and apartments of the Castle in a new light. The 13 Rooms and Suites restored with the greatest respect for the original spirit and furnished with period furniture, immerse guests in history with all the modern comforts of today. From period furniture and paintings to the team's outfits, Le Grand Contrôle preserves the authenticity of the 18th century. While the lighting was specially designed in accordance with the style of the time, the televisions disappear and give way to a breathtaking view of the Parterre de l'Orangerie and the Pieu d'Eau des Suisses. From the Valmont Spa and its indoor swimming pool to the Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant signed by Alain Ducasse, the service is revisited and uses royal classics. At Grand Contrôle, the French way of life and service are translated into singular attentions in order to recreate the time of a stay, the atmosphere of yesteryear.
