TECHNICAL SKILLS/KNOW-HOW:
Since its creation in 1729, the first Champagne House has been the symbol of an art of living. Committed for almost 300 years to the transmission of know-how, the support of local crafts and the promotion of Art, Maison Ruinart has never stopped innovating. Recognizing the major challenges of her time, she is committed to the preservation of the environment. Maison Ruinart was founded on September 1, 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart. His uncle, an erudite Benedictine monk, Dom Thierry Ruinart had a brilliant intuition. He felt that this new “sparkling wine”, developed in his native Champagne and loved by the European royal courts, had a bright future. The creation of Maison Ruinart coincided with the birth, in France, of the “Age of Enlightenment” and the French art of living. A true culture of good and beautiful was then born in France, favoring fine and elegant taste, light and sophisticated, delicate and rare. Ruinart's cuvees would then naturally find their place there. Maison Ruinart had long maintained privileged relationships with the art world. As early as 1896, André Ruinart sought the greatest illustrator of his time, Alfons Mucha, who then created an advertisement whose modernity would cause a sensation. His commitment to the field of art is expressed today through his multiple artistic collaborations. Driven by the constant quest for excellence, the House has chosen Chardonnay, a rare and fragile grape variety, the common thread running through all of its cuvees.
