Company description

Located on Avenue Montaigne, next to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Hotel Plaza Athénée brings French luxury to this district, which has become the center of high fashion in Paris.

Built in 1911 by the hotelier Jules Cadillat and inaugurated two years later in April 1913, the Hotel Plaza Athénée is located on Avenue Montaigne, pierced in 1850 and lined with sumptuous residences and renowned cabarets. The hotel quickly established itself as one of the most popular palaces in the City of Lights, so much so that it doubled its size during the Roaring Twenties.

In 1936, the iconic Le Relais Plaza brasserie opened its doors: already revolutionary at the time, the Art Deco layout designed by Constant Lefranc was inspired by the first-class dining room in Normandy.
The opening in 1946 of the Christian Dior House a few steps from the hotel marked the beginning of a long history with fashion as other designers settled in its wake. Avenue Montaigne then became the fashion hotspot in Paris, and the Hotel Plaza Athénée became the meeting place for its customers.
